Finned Tube

Finned tubes are key components of economizers, heat recovery boilers and many other industrial heat exchanger applications. These tubes are available with straight/solid or threaded fins. All finned pipe configurations are customized according to customers' specific requirements and flue gas characteristics: threaded fins are used in clean applications such as natural gas combustion, while straight fins are used where dusty or corrosive conditions exist.

Finned pipes
Single tube finned tubes or double tube rectangular finned tubes are used in the following areas:
▪ coal fired boilers
▪ waste incinerators
▪ biomass power plants

ACE Engineering finned tubes are used in power generation with heat recovery in steam and combined cycle power plants, for district heating and industrial purposes, as well as in reactors and furnaces for the chemical and petrochemical industry. In addition to its large production capacity, ACE Engineering has its own extensive pipe and coil warehouse to serve the market quickly and flexibly. The manufacturing process with great vertical integration also includes bending machines to reduce costly welding and x-ray inspections.

Rectangular Finned Tubes
available as single or double pipe. Particularly suitable for flue gases containing dust, such as waste incineration plants, biomass cogeneration plants and coal or oil-fired plants.
available with solid or toothed blades.

Wing Materials
The wing material is purchased and stored as raw coil. With our own slitting line, the wing strip is only produced according to actual customer orders. Therefore, ACE Engineering can react flexibly and guarantees very short delivery times. Almost any combination of tube and fin material can be welded.

Wing Types
Solid wings
These wings are fully welded to the tube. The pressure applied when wrapping the wing strip around the tube can cause a slight thinning in the wing tip area. Due to the compression and the added filler metal, the width of the wing base can be up to 120% of the nominal wing thickness.

Solid finned tube
Geared wings
Toothed wings are produced by splitting the wing strip at equal intervals during the flapping process. A 5 mm (0.19″) high base is left un-slit to form a continuous wing base. When the wing strip is helically wound onto the tube, the outer end of the threaded section is split to form rectangular segments.
